Site visit 19th May 2017
We are nearly one month away from getting the keys to our apartment and progress is gearing up.
Although still looking very much the building site the builders are adamant they will beat the scheduled handover of the 24th June.
The driveway and gardens are set and the exterior of the building is finished.
The ski room is still a shell, but is a massive space and even with the cupboards fitted I hope for space for a bench too.
The entrance hall will also be a grand entrance with a sweeping circular staircase, wide enough for 2 people to walk side by side. Each landing is spacious with windows looking out onto the gardens and the valley beyond.
On reaching the top third floor La Niche is the first on the right. The space for the huge cupboard on the left as you walk in through the front door is massive, this will have hanging space for coats and ski gear and will also house the washer/dryer and even when the cupboard is in, I feel for a open luxurious hallway. Once the wood flooring is in and a slim console table it will be a great welcome.
Off the hallway are the three bedrooms all with views over the valleys and electric shutters. We have opted for wall lighting in the two main double bedrooms and the electrics for this is in. All bedrooms will feature built in wardrobes with shelving and hanging space.
We have separated the bathroom and the toilet to add extra privacy for friends sharing and the plumbing is all in. The toilet is much bigger then I expected. The walk-in shower and bath is fitted and the cream and chocolate tiles are in, but covered in protective plastic so I couldn't take a photo.
The open plan living room has windows looking down the high street and the electric shutters are in on the doors and windows. The hole and cabling are in for the flat screen internet TV.
I have no doubt the custom built grand sofa by Appletree Interiors of Cambridge, England (www.appletreeinteriors.co.uk) will look fantastic.
We've chosen the tiles to go behind the kitchen unit, grey bricks to match the granite and I think I've nearly decided on the bar stools for the dining island. Grey velvet, very luxurious.
Here are some photos of the build so far. I'll post more of the sofa when it arrives.
