La Niche is awarded 4 Stars

What a start to our summer season. Kicking off with being awarded 4 stars by the Office of Tourism.

The snow is melting now and the rivers are absolutely pouring down the valley. Last week I hiked up to Refuge de Christ (see photo) from Brides-les-Bains. This is a wonderful 3-4 hours walk up alongside the river to Les Allues and then up to the wonderful pastureland above. Although the refuge is not open until June, we took a picnic lunch and basked in the sun admiring the views.

We also took a trip to Annecy. This is approximately a 30 minute drive away and a great day out. We had lunch at Restaurant Coté Plage in Sevrier on the lake but just outside Annecy. Totally recommend coming here, there is plenty of parking, food was great and the view outstanding. After or before dinner you can swim and sunbathe just outside, and there is a jetty for the kids to jump off.

La Niche welcomed our furthest travelling guest - all the way from Argentina! We are fully booked in July and August but we have space in June, September and October.
